Bodega Carlos Moro, who began their foray into the world of wine tourism two years ago, are revitalising their tourism offer with an appealing plan for Easter Week. Tourists can choose from three different types of visits, depending on the desired duration and their available budget, that range from 40 minutes to two hours and fifteen minutes, and from €15 to €35 per person.

The excellent geographic location of Bodega Carlos Moro, situated in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, allows visitors to enjoy a wine experience in a region with a Rioja Designation of Origin. There are a variety of options offered to tourists by this Riojan winery, with its modern methods and impressive underground wine cellar filled with wine casks, whose wines began to see the light last year under the brands CM and Oinoz.

One of the most popular religious demonstrations in Spain takes place in San Vicente de la Sonsierra during Easter Week, led by the Flagellants of Santa Veracruz, known as “Picaos”. The Riojan village also offers various gastronomic experiences and a number of charming hotels, such as Casa Toni, La Casa del Boticario and Hotel Villa de Sonsierra.

Bodega Carlos Moro

The winery is located on a hillside with excellent views of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Rioja, in an environment rich in culture and beautiful landscapes. Bodega Carlos Moro’s promotion of wine culture is strengthened by the region’s extensive experience in this industry, in which it has been involved for decades. The winery is entirely accessible and also allows visitors to explore its perfectly-located vineyards, so they can see the work that is carried out in the fields throughout the year and witness first-hand the different phenological stages.

By means of a glass elevator visitors can look over all the different floors and wine production rooms in comfort, to witness the winemaking process. The building’s design consists of different levels among the various production sections, including ageing, bottling and shipping, which allow the handling of the grape and the decanting of the wines through a gravity-based method and maximum care of the grape.

Visitors can explore the impressive underground wine cellar, 1,200m2 in size, where the wine rests in the best quality French and American wine casks, and can then taste the wines for themselves. Furthermore, they can pass by the shop and enjoy a glass of wine from the Wine Bar or the tasting room.
