Oinoz Verdejo is the first white wine to be launched by Bodega Carlos Moro this summer. After producing and presenting the two red wines of the Rioja DOCa, Oinoz Crianza and Oinoz by Claude Gros, the modern brand has decided to offer a white wine made from 100% Verdejo grapes in the cradle of this variety, Rueda, to serve a segment of the population that is looking for fresh white wines, especially this season in the year.
The character of this wine is as Mediterranean as its name, since the term ‘oinoz’ was chosen to describe the first grape juice fermented in the Mediterranean Sea.
Oinoz Verdejo 2017 is a single-variety white that is fresh, smooth and elegant. It has a pale straw yellow tone with a vibrant and bright greenish rim. It releases fruity aromas from the tropical and floral range (white flower, hay, fresh grass…) and elegant aniseed touches. In the mouth it has structure and a perfect balance between acidity and volume that gives it a remarkable freshness. A persistent wine with a long fruity after-taste.
This wine is made with grapes from Bodegas Familiares Matarromera vineyards in the town of Villalba de Adaja (Matapozuelos), specifically from Finca Las Marcas of more than 85 hectares. and where the production is 9,000 kg/ha. From this reference the company estimates an annual production of 450,000 bottles.
